4 Day Lake Eyre Tour Itinerary

DAY 1 - Adelaide to Coober Pedy

6.30- Depart from O'Connell Inn,  https://www.oconnellinn.com.au/

On the road north, a short stop at Pt Wakefield for a coffee, and then lunch at Port Augusta. The tour will then continue north to the town of Woomera for a quick tour of the town and information centre. On the road again, the tour will arrive at Lake Hart, Glendambo for fuel and to stretch the legs. The final stop, after a long day on the road, is the 'Opal Capital of the World', Coober Pedy, where your underground accommodation awaits.

(The other option for the day is to fly over the tour direct to Coober Pedy with Rex airlines).

DAY 2 - Coober Pedy to Marree

Breakfast, before a morning tour of Umoona Mines, where you will have the chance to buy some beautiful Opals. Explore the township of Coober Pedy and the amazing colours of the desert scenery, "The Breakaways", only a short drive out of the town.

After we explore Coober Pedy, we will embark on the two-hour drive to William Creek, which is located on the largest cattle station in the world, Anna Creek Station. Here, you will have lunch in the Iconic William Creek Hotel, and then on the road again, where we are following the Old Ghan track, and we get our first Look at Lake Eyre from ground level. Arriving at The home of the Old Ghan town of Marree.

DAY 3 - Marree to Parachilna

After an outback breakfast at 8.00am, we hit the skys for our birds eye view of the amazing Lake Eyre with water and the incredible bird life. In the afternoon, the tour will continue south and visit the old railway town of Farina. No tour is complete without spending some time admiring the beautiful colours of the Ochre Pits, and stopping in to see an Outback identity, Talc Alf. The tour arrives at Parachilna late in the afternoon, where your night's accommodation awaits at the iconic Prairie Hotel, Parachilna. 

DAY 4 - Parachilna to Adelaide

Wake up to a breakfast to remember at the Prairie Hotel, before hitting the road south to explore the majestic Flinders Ranges. The tour will continue south, stopping at Hawker to visit Jeff Morgans Art Gallery. Enjoy a delightful lunch in Jamestown before sampling some award-winning wines in the Clare valley wine region. The tour will conclude in Adelaide in the evening.
